Lenten Reflection – 18-February-2021 – Lent Day 2
Ecclesiastes 3:1 and 6
"There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every matter under heaven—
…A time to search and a time to give up as lost; A time to keep and a time to throw away."
As I have shared with you, each year I look for ways to make the Lenten season more meaningful – for you and for me. This year, I am sharing daily what I feel the Lord is sharing with me about this time. Today, He is speaking to me about what I may be holding too tightly – my possessions? my anxieties? my desires? my fears? my will? my way? Letting go sounds easy, but it seldom is – a fact that I suspect we all know all too well.
Jesus, teach me today what I need to give up to You. Soften my heart to surrender to you what is not really mine to hold onto anyway. Give me Your eyes to see all things the way that You see them. Let me always be surrendered to You in all that I do. In Your name I pray, Amen.
Proverbs 3:5 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not trust in your own understanding. 6 Agree with Him in all your ways, and He will make your paths straight."
