Psalm 139:1-2 1 O LORD, You have searched me and known me.
2 You know when I sit and when I rise;
You understand my thoughts from afar.
One of the things I learned during my childhood was that being yelled at was an awful experience, but being ignored and disregarded was almost worse. At least the person being yelled at is being acknowledged even though it is not a pleasant or even an accurate type of recognition.
The way we treat each other is important, but treating someone as though they don’t exist or their existence isn’t important, is one of the most difficult things of all to endure. Jesus shows us the Father who loves us and knows us – He knows us by name and He knows every detail of who we are.
Psalm 139:6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.
You are aware of all my ways.
God’s overwhelming love for me is all the more humbling and amazing in light of His awareness “of all my ways.” Yet, He met me where I was and showed me the path of Life – the path that He made for us because of His great love for us.
2 Corinthians 5:21God made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.
O Lord, thank you for Your great love – You created me in Your love, You know me in Your love, You show me Your love, You gave Jesus for my sin because of Your love, You forgave me in Your love, You will never leave me or forsake me, because of Your love. Please instill Your love in me deeply and fill me with Your love so I may live in Your love and always share Your love. Open my eyes to the hurting people who need Your love. Because of Jesus’ love, I pray, Amen.
John 15:12 This is My command: Love one another as I have loved you. 13 No one has greater love than this, that someone would lay down his life for his friends.
